ESL Program will ensure that ELL students participate in and receive equitable opportunities with regards to positive learning environments and high stakes curriculum .

Mission

Raymondville Independent School District is committed to addressing the needs of students who are identified as English Language Learners (ELL) and provide an equal educational opportunity for all identified students through the English as a Second Language (ESL) program.

The ESL Program will emphasize the mastery of English language skills enabling students to participate effectively in regular classroom instruction and support mastery of the state's curriculum, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). This will allow students to reach full potential through equitable experiences which ensure that they become confident, productive and competent members of our multicultural society.

RISD Goal

RISD implements the state mandated English as a Second Language Program as per Chapter 89.1210 of the Texas Education Code. The ESL Model is a full-time program of transitional instruction. the amount of instruction in each language (primary and secondary) shall be commensurate with students' linguistic proficiency and academic potential in both languages.
