BKB Dominates Rough Rider Contest with First Place Finish and Full Caption Sweep
The Raymondville Bearkat Band (BKB) delivered a powerhouse performance at the San Antonio Rough Rider Contest, bringing home 1st Place in Class 3A and sweeping multiple caption awards against strong competition from 13 bands.
BKB’s exceptional performance earned top honors in nearly every category:
- Outstanding Soloist
- Outstanding Guard
- Outstanding Front Ensemble
- Outstanding Drumline
- Outstanding Hornline
- Best in Class
Among the 13 competing bands in Class 3A, the Raymondville Bearkat Band rose to the top, placing ahead of Jourdanton,
who earned 3rd Place, and Cole, who took 2nd Place — securing 1st Place overall and solidifying their position as the leading band in their division. This remarkable achievement reflects the hard work, discipline, and passion of our student musicians, directors, and guard members. Their dedication continues to make Raymondville ISD proud!
Next stop for the Bearkat Band is the Bay Area Marching Contest, and we’re calling on all fans to come out and show their support! BKB will take the field for their first performance at Calallen High School – Phil Danaher Stadium (4001 Wildcat Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78410) on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 4:30 PM. Let’s pack the stands in royal blue and gold and let everyone hear that Bearkat Pride loud and proud!
