Fire Safety Starts with ME! Bearkats Gear Up for a Week of Preparedness
Our Elementary Schools kicked off Fire Prevention Week with excitement and energy as our Bearkats enjoyed an engaging safety presentation led by Mr. Eloy Zamorano and the Criminal Justice Practicum Class, Chief Gutierrez and the RISD Police Department, along with our local heroes from the Raymondville Fire Department. Students learned essential fire safety tips, explored real firefighting gear and equipment, and discovered how quick thinking can protect families in emergencies. They were also reminded not to be afraid of firefighters in uniform—those suits are worn to stay safe while rescuing others! With the powerful message, “Fire safety starts with ME!”, our young learners walked away informed, empowered, and ready to Stop, Drop, and Roll if needed. A heartfelt thank-you to our firefighters and officers for inspiring our students and making safety unforgettable!
