Historic Victory For The Raymondville Bearkat Band!

The Raymondville Bearkat Band has achieved a milestone that will forever be remembered in our community’s history, they are officially the 2025, 2026 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) 3A State Honor Band Champions! 

This prestigious title is the highest honor a concert band can earn in the state of Texas. After months of dedication, rehearsals, and performances, the Bearkat Band impressed audiences and judges alike with their extraordinary musical talent. In both the Semi-Finals and Finals, the Bearkat Band received 1st Place rankings from all five judges, a rare and remarkable accomplishment.

Competing against outstanding bands from across Texas, the Bearkats’ victory is a testament to the hard work of the students, the leadership and vision of their directors, and the unwavering support from parents, alumni, and the community. Their journey to the top involved a rigorous competition process, from recording sessions to regional, area, and state-level contests, culminating in this historic win.

As the newly crowned TMEA 3A State Honor Band, the Bearkats will now represent Raymondville on one of the most prestigious stages in Texas music, a performance at the TMEA Convention in San Antonio in February 2026.
